- Two-speed motor offers enhanced versatility
- Auto speed ramping brings spindle motor smoothly up to operating speed. This reduces pad separation from lap during start up, especially helpful with gripper type pads.
- Synchronous (timed) gear belt drive mechanism minimizes vibration and prevents motion irregularities during processing
- Double baffle system with tertiary internal drip shield protects internal components
- Slurry system accommodates either standalone or central slurry operation with hookups at the rear of the unit
- Slurry pump is located remotely from the bowl to avoid overheating the slurry
- Oil impregnated bronze ("lubricated for life") bearings used in the Gimbal and Traverse Assemblies can have additional oil added through oilers to extend bearing life.
- Enclosure is constructed of heavy duty gauge sheet metal — no injection molded plastic
- Orbit and sweep range adjustments are made internally to prevent accidental resetting
- Full range of sphere and cylinder curves without the use of adapters
- Capable of both plus and minus surface processing
